Louis, Domaine Les Pailles is easily accessible from the South
and the North by the motorway
Domaine Les Pailles
is a unique reconstruction of an old sugar estate, consisting
of an old Sugar Mill, reminiscent of an 18th century sugar
estate, a traditional rum distillery, sugar cane plantations,
a natural reserve, a leisure and business centre, with five
restaurants, conferences and banqueting facilities, a horse
riding centre, and a casino.
Guided visit and rum tasting
Guided Visit to the traditional sugar mill, rum and essential
oils distillery, handicraft buts and spice gardens, ending
with Le Domaine Rum tasting and Sega show. Video film on old

Mountain
safaris Discovering indigenous fauna and flora, and a visit
to the natural spring in a 1500 hectares natural reserve by
Land Rovers (2 hours).
Horse driven carriage
Authentic Deauvilles drawn by dark Friesian horses take the
visitors for a ride through the sugar cane plantations and
gardens. Five Deauvilles available (15 mins)
Train trip
Mini Train, ‘Lady Alice’. Trip round the Domaine’s
premises. (15 mins) 120 seats.
The Boutique Selling Le Domaine’s rum, spices from

EXCURSIONS GROUPS INCENTIVES - LUNCH STOP-OVER
Groups are invited to a lunch in one of our restaurants or
under the Marquee. The lunch Stop-Over at Domaine les Pailles
fits exactly the needs of groups on excursion tours: for example,
Pamplemousses, Port Louis old market, shopping. Set menu,
buffet or barbecue is proposed. A visit of the old sugar Estate
and rum tasting are offered to the group, before or after
lunch
A NIGHT AT THE DOMAINE
Indian
Fairy Night: A typical oriental dinner with classical
Indian dancers and musicians. Kaleidoscope: Legacy of the
different ethnic groups of the Mauritian population, with
mixed dishes and Sega, Indian and Chinese shows.
Plantation Evening: On this night we take
you back to the last century with cocktails, mixed buffet,
Sega dancing and guitar, Creole Ballads in the hearts of Sugar
Mill Garden.
China Town: A typical Chinese dinner with
an incredible show: acrobats, drums, firecrackers and famous
Lion dance
Savannah: In a Creole / African atmosphere, a local barbecue
is served in the natural reserve.
The Night of the Stars: By Land Rover: 450m
above sea level, up to the Lodge, with a pianist to entertain
an evening tailored for small and exclusive groups. Astronomy
